I just put a new stereo in my TD5 and noted it doesn't have a permanent live 12v to keep all the memory etc. Does anyone know if this is normally the case? Or is the original stereo connected to the ECU using a canbus to turn it on etc
No its wrong youve just got to swap a wire around thats all. get your testers out and find permanent live on the landy then look in the instructions for your new stereo and there should be a diagram for the back connector saying whats what unless its a chinky chinaman bestest reproduction .
Does the stereo switch on just not hold its memory? If so swap the red and yellow wires on the back of the stereo (most have bullet connectors so you can swap them)
