Sounds Like A VCU failing symptom mate,,
Just wait for confirmation, but I think this is one of the signs..

That's what it sounds like to me too. Have a look in the how to section, there should be a thread on how to check it.

:5biagree: Have a look at the picture below. The VCU is the big black thing to the right of the picture attached to the prop shaft.

They all drag a bit - dont they? My VCU is newish - tho been up the shed for months. Now refitted, I regards some tightness as perfectly normal. When the old one was fooked, it was awful to drive and they get very hot.

Blimey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never heard of anything like that before.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

viscous coupling unit. I've never changed 1 myself but it doesn't look to bad to do. You'll be looking at around £250 for a recon unit from bell engineering I think.

so its normal then . felt like tyres were flat and dragging

NO! It's not normal. It's a bad thing.

Get the VCU checked as soon as possible. If it is failing or it seizes completely the damage to the rest of your drive train will be very expensive to repair.

Normal to have a slight braking effect in reverse on full lock.

This is more than that so wot they said^^^^
