is it possible to put a steering wheel from a discovery in to my defender is the wiring loom the same,as i like the idea of controlling the radio with my thumbs has anyone done this ??

Interesting, though I doubt it. Plus you've got the airbag to contend with, be interesting to see what others say...

oh hell, forgot about the air bag, someone told me the wiring harness was the same through out as it saved on money producing different wiring harnesses for different models

While the defender looms are similar, I can't see a discovery loom fitting a defender, and vice versa. The bulkheads are physically different. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Anything is achievable if you want it enough. You have to weigh the benefit against the time, labour and expense though. Is it really worth it? I think you can buy bluetooth radios with remotes that fit to steering wheels though. Might be a better, and cheaper option.

You can get a steering wheel module for my double din unit that works on the steering wheel controls of my X5. Same could be done for a Defender really if you just got a similar radio that supports it and wire the controls on the Discovery wheel to it

Are you certain that the number of spline ridges is the sames on both vehicles. There are two different of the defender and I do not know when the change was made.
