Hello.

I'm in Spain at my parents, and I've got a 59 plate 3 litre sport.

I noticed that when breaking, the steering wheel would wobble, although now, there's a naughty knockin noise when breaking.

Took it to a local garage, where it would appear to be worn wishbones, passenger side significantly more than drivers side, but also in the middle of the car, at the back of the gearbox, there's a metal unit with rubbers that is as loose as.

When he stuck a metal rod up there, it moved quite badly with ease.

He's said it would be ok to drive it back to London from Spain, but can anyone tell me what the middle rear unit is please, so that I can try to pre order one.

Thanks in advance you sarcastic bar stewards..!

So, new arms and new gearbox mounts!?
Fricking bar steward?? @tomcat59alan resembles that remark..... :p

Don't be tempted to get cheap arms... They are not worth it in the long run and tyres are expensive every 6 months:eek:

Strange intro, but hey, I reckon it maybe the prop-shaft he's talking about ....
But a grown-up will be along shortly to put you right about it ...

A-ha yes it's a sport/disco 3 prop. The props shaft support bearing. It's a complete setup and you change the whole prop. Rip-off idea:rolleyes:

Well it's significantly more wobbly at the back of the gearbox. There's a little bit of play in the passenger side wishbone but not much.

She drives absolutely fine, the problem only occurs when applying the brakes

When I get it back to the UK I'll be selling it anyway.

Those cars were built for hairdressers and footballers wives, I'm 6 foot 3 ffs, even with the seat fully lowered my head touches the roof lining.

I need a proper l322

This looks like the rear mount on the back of the autobox that's flapping in the breeze
