Hi, im new on here, my disco TD5 2003 has a noise at very low speeds on full lock, its high up in the column, sounds like a worn bearing, any ideas guys, Mick

Yep fluid is fine, deffo high up noise just below steering wheel, are there bushes/bearings higher up the steering column??

Don't think so ... someone will ... but there is a rubber bush where the shaft goes through the bulkhead, could it be that?

If you run the engine and turn the steering lock to lock, then look in the reservoir are there any bubbles or froth ?

Heheheh, My 300 Tdi Disco had a similar sound, the plastic steering wheel shroud moved a little at certain degrees of steering wheel movement, making a sort of scratchy/groan sound .. very hard to describe ... I think the foam bit of the wheel upholstery was a little eccentric and slightly caught the hard plastic .. ;)
