Troops,
As part of my undertaking to accessorise my Freebifter I've swapped the old basic steering wheel for a nice leather one. I was amazed at how easy it was and how I managed to do it with no help at all. Imagine my suprise when some dozy t@*t pulled out in front of me some 20 minutes later.
In traditional style I leapt on the horn and had an appropriate hand gesture ready when.....yep no horn!
So I need some help.
The old wheel had two wires going into the block connector, a blue one and a purple one, occupying points 1 and 3 if you like on the connector.
The new wheel has several wires of which the horn appear to be green and orange. If you trace these back they go into points 3 and 4 on the connector. 1 and 2 are taken up with the radio controls of which I have no use as I've taken the original stereo out.
So can anybody help me get the horn working, my idea is to cut the connector of the old wheel with a length of cable still attacthed. Then I plan to cut into the green and orange cables and connect them into the blue and purple. Then plug this connector in leaving the connector that came with the new wheel unplugged.
I hope this will work, my belief is that the airbag system works completely off the yellow cable that is totally seperate and unaffected by my thoughts.
Sorry I've gone on a bit but I'm looking for some practical advice from you all.
