Hi Guys,

I am all new to the Discovery world. I am looking at buying a T reg disco. the dealer said the car has gone for service and to have its steering wheel box! changed. he said he is going to use a good "reconditioned" one and the car should be fine.

is it normal for the car of this age to need this box changed and how reliable a reconditioned one is gonna be in the long run. The car otherwise looks fine and seems to have good specs otherwise but just worried about this box thing. should i walk???

Hey - good on the dealer, least he didn't try and hide it.
Think a lot boxes are reconditioned

98000 miles - owned initially by a company for many years and one other owner recently. he'a asking for just over 4k?

A steering box from Paddocks is in the £300 sort of range I think. Good that it's being done before you buy. It will make the steering less 'vague'.

thanks for the help guys. i feel better now. i'll be test driving it soon, hope it ends up being a decent one as im getting sick of test driving horrible ones.
