hi ive recently fitted a recon steering box and im experincing a little bit of free play from the wheels it seems to want to follow the camber of the road and i find myself having to correct the steering constantly , any advice ?

did you check when pas box is in central position ,wheels were straight

it was a friend that did the job and to be fair he does have a lot of experience with landrovers , the steering wheel is slightly out of alignment but i dont think its that , i remember my dad had a problem like this on an old series 2 but we managed to adjust the shimms ,was like a train after that , the discovery did come back very stiff and went back to get slackened a bit but now feels a bit wandery ( if thats even a word haha)

steering box needs to be set central as it has a center tight spot ,either side going to each lock play gets greater , so box is set central then steering wheel and then road wheels are set from there, box can be adjusted but steering swivels cant like the old series , id imagins a could few landy mechanics dont know about setting steering central
