Depends whether you're compating it to a London taxi or another D2 !
What size tyres do you have & on what wheels ?
 
The turning circle between kerbs for a Disco 2 is given in the handbook as 11.9 metres. If that's too much then it might be reduced to 39.1 feet .... hardly wonderful.
 
Standard 16" wheels and tyres. It's as if when the steering wheel is fully turned if u pull harder there is a bit more, surely this isn't right?!

Its not, the steering should turn as easily from the start untill it hits the full lock and stops.
Never had an issue with the amount of lock but I try to avoid tight u turns and do a three point turn, even when Ive gone the wrong way on an single carriageway A road, it's just as quick to spin the steering wheel as necessary and back we go from where we just been :D
