noticed something on my latest project today, 1972 109" the steering linkage arms that are bolted to the hub swivels are on top, lookig at my other 2 109"'s the arms are bolted underneath, does this mean that somebody has put the axle on upside down or is this mormal?

The threes are definitely on the bottom. There's a distant memory that S2s were the other way round.

they are the 12" drums, just thinking about it, it would be impossible to put the axle upside down,

Ive just checked my two S3's and my S2a and they all appear to be the same. 1st 2 photos are the S2a. Maybe the S2 is different though as stated above. I have checked an Autobooks Manual for S2,S2a and S3 but it makes no mention of any differences. This is quite interesting, do you have photos?
