Hi all, are there any recommendations for the steering knuckle ball joints Delphi/moog/lemforder/genuine & I presume it's best to do upper & lower together ? as I've noticed a small split in one of the boots.
As ever any advice much appreciated.

I used Lemforder on both sides 12 months ago and no problems as yet. It's a pig of a job but very satisfying once done. I would invest or borrow a good quality ball joint service kit, an enerpac jack, a blow torch and a bloody big swear box.

I also changed the drive shaft seals whilst I was in there as they will probably need removing for access.

Have fun

Just did the job, i.e. changed the boots.
Did buy the ball joints and the press kit to change them, but it is the feck of a job and they weren't worn, so didn't bother.
Quite fiddly getting to that point, as it was.
If you decide you need to go the whole hog, best of British luck!:):):)

Yeah, I've been reading previous posts:eek: & even though I've already done new disc(s),caliper & bolts & driveshaft oil seal that side, under 300 miles ago, I'm not looking forward to it & I'll admit I've asked a mechanic friend who has owned two D2's before & access to all garage facilities if he's got time to do it:rolleyes: as I don't want to be stuck with it in bits. I'll get the Lemforder parts as I know from my FL1 drop links they are v.good quality bits.

I replaced both sides (upper and lower) but gave in and had the local garage so it for me and I’m glad they did. 2 days with an oxy acetylene torch and some serious tools to get them out - but it’s made a huge difference so worth doing.

Good luck with it!
