Looking to buy a steering guard for my defender 90, was wondering what are the advantages or disadvantages are of having a single piece guard or a three piece guard?

3 piece takes longer to put on/take off. Personally i'd say the 3 piece is less strong as its structural integrity is compromised by the fact that it, by its nature, is less rigid.

the question is do you really need one, i only have sumo bars and have had no probs, but if you are getting one have a look at the tubular one westmids 4x4 do really nice but of kit.

I like the look of these defo

Just get the cheapest paddocks 3 piece one. It's solid and looks the business. Only thing I'd say is I don't like the gap between the bumper and guard so i might put my number plate there.

A few people have said that about the Paddock three piece guard. I have a tubular winch bumper so the gap wouldn't be a problem.
