Changed the steering drop arm today. New one on and now the steering wheel is 45 degree out of alignment. I thought they would only go on one way?! No way its coming off again so guess I just reposition steering wheel??
There is, I just did one last week..Thought there was a large spline to make sure the arm was in the correct place ?
No. You have to take the arm off, position it properly, and then set up the steering in the right place, You can do fine adjustment on the rods if needed, but shouldn't have to.Changed the steering drop arm today. Still struggling to understand if it only fits one way why it is now out of alignment? Question: Without drop arm on could you turn steering wheel and spline just spins around?I just always put the rod in hard lock right position (left if you're looking at it from head on), put the new one on (splines make it only fit one way), then locking washer, nut, hammer washer.. job is normally a good one.. check position of steering wheel if out.. then reposition..
Without drop arm on you can rotate the steering wheel.think It’s about 2 1/2 full turns lock to lock.Still struggling to understand if it only fits one way why it is now out of alignment? Question: Without drop arm on could you turn steering wheel and spline just spins around?
