Bit sick of the noise of the grinder and couldn't be arsed with welding. Just wanted to have a drink and do farty bits so I got the heat gun and wire wheel on the rust strip and cleaned it all back. Zinc sprayed then covered the lot in black for a bit of a moral boost. Hoping to get the window surround welded in tomorrow. Will be a case of do an inch and wait to avoid warping! Going to be tough to get and exact fit too!

Yeah! I'll be alright with the welding in the morning after a coffee especially is sunny. Started another fred as can't find a spring seat anywhere?! Mine isnt salvageable I doubt

Thanks - I searched using all those terms and I couldn't find it on eBay!!! Oh well got it now - cheers. Instead of blowing cash on payday I know see what's left and ration to the lr haha

I have things like that in my bookmarks bar LOL sad twunt that I am haha

As do I, and screen shots! They work better than mental notes lol. I won't bother trying to buy boot supports - will just weld an upside down 'u' in their place

Be a good bit cheaper, the only thing you need to re-create is the bit that touched the support on the chassis rail for the middle two, you could make it cheaper still and buy rectangular box section and slice it in half with a slitting disc ;)

F8ck sake. Tried drilling then tapping out as per Chris thread but thread is so dirty at back I couldn't and knew it would end up on the p!ss. I left them for now as knee one of you would have a solution. I hope!!!!

Fair bit dobe today. Was a bit if a war to be honest. I'm constantly going in to work with landy inflicted wounds :D notice the no nonsense breaker :D some bolts were so tight. Bit gutted as my 30mm was way too bulky for a frame nut and I couldn't release the top two on fulcrum. I'll order a non impact 30

Drill from the front. Centre punch, I think I used 3mm pilot hole and 7mm. You might find the heat from the 7mm might loosen them.
I used a pointy tap from rear so it bit into drilled hole and picked up existing thread.

I actually tried stud extractors, but bottled it as they seemed they might snap on me!!

I've absolutely butchered one and stopped as didn't want to do more damage. All pointy taps were imperial- my metrics are like a flat entry. I've sent the drill bit way into one. There must be the smallest but of bolt remaining but I can't seem to get it without mashing the existing

I think you phucked it this time

I'd deffo be in there with 6~8mm stud extractors, if there is a bit left out then try to grind it flush gently and make life easy for drilling, how much have you drilled out? If there is a good bit on the tap then grind it back to a taper.

Near enough all of it drilled out. I'll give the extractor another whirl but stood away from it when I knew I'd mash it in fury  yeah luckily it snapped near enough flush

Put a scrap bolt back in & lock it up to the old bolt. Drill through both as a pilot.
Remove scrap bolt & continue drill & tap old remainder out.
