I left a bit of the inner sill intact, perhaps 1" maybe a bit more. Was a lot easier to weld to than trying to weld the rounded corner of the box to the floor

That would work as means I can chop their ****e welding away and reweld further up the box. Does leave an annoying little rust trap though. I may just leave in place and fix the holes and actually get a ticket on it before I die. Either way I can wire wheel back and see what we have
 
Broken the back of boot floor. Will need bracing I thing but Going to run a box frame ontop and ply so no worries there. I scorched the tank breather hose :(:eek:

Shot. I’m just going to use it as a template for shape if you get me. I’m going to buy the outer arch bit with the repair plate with the captive nut plate in. I’ve still got the back of sill plate from mount repair which is already done.
So, I’m going to fill the gap at rear quarter up to the pillar, 2mm the pillar, cut out part of the arch to put shaped plate in, weld in the back of sill panel then span a bit of sheet between them. I can then just tag off this shape. It’s worked out on the ns.

Boot floor I’m going with your plan. Weld two longitudinal sections of frame, then two lateral. Rear lat ties into rear quarter, front one ties into arch sides. Chop and wed to each other at junctions.
Get paint in and all the sealer in (might even cover the whole panel in that sealer to aid deafening and protection). Once all the heats done I’ll seal from below too. Then ply and I think I’ll ply the verticals up to rear windows. Don’t know if I’ll have to baton these or not....
What’s your cunning thoughts on the above??
 
also have to do the bit that puddles my head a touch which is the angled floor tie ins. Haven’t decided what to do with inner sill junk yet

Sounds like a plan, so long as you drill a couple of vent holes in the ply it should be grand, as for the sound deadening I would look at the underseal with added waxoyl in it as it ought repel any moisture that get is there.

Just had a quick goggle and fook meh, wheel tubs retail at £130 now :eek::eek::eek: They were about £80 when I bought them.
 
Not cheap are they!! Doesn’t matter too much as not on show. As long as all closed up and rot free it won’t be too bad. Figured out how to fit the seats the other night too. After loads of over complicating I found a really easy solution.

What is this easy solution you found, it might come in handy as there is a V70 being broken round the corner with beige leather interior.
 
Auf Weidersein has a great thread going on his Disco, he put replacement seats in his. If I remember he bolted the new seats onto a 5mm sheet of aluminium and then bolted the aluminium sheet onto the Disco mounts......or something like that.
 
I’m cutting the Volvo rails back so I have just the horizontal plane if that makes sense and welding it to the disco mounts. I’ll then have an adapter. Interested in the above
 
I think I get it.

I have other problems to overcome with mine being a 3 door with forward folding seat bases, the height of the seats is my limiting factor as they need to clear the front of the roof.
 
I did put a thread on it which has pics - not sure how to link but you’ll see.I noticed yesterday the Volvo seat folds at a flick on the bottom. Wait until I’ve done mine then you’ll know! I only paid 40 for mine!! They have little ecig and juice pockets at front too :rolleyes:

To be I think they’d be some of comfiest seats I’ve had. If they made a nicer dash and fixed the handling a t5 would be a hell of a used car buy. They’re actually quite problematic though I think as researched before. I wanted an ex police white one. You always used to **** yourself when you saw a white t5 estate in mirrors :eek:
 
I still see one regular, a guy on the island has a t5 estate in white, never thought to ask if was ex police but it does have an odd grille and grommets in the roof :confused:

I like the XC90 and the XC70 but not sure if I like them enough to buy one?

Still hankering after an L322 Range Rover V8 petrol, had a spin in one and it was without a doubt the most effortless motor and the quietest thing I have ever had the joy of driving but I also had a spin in a late 4.6 HSE P38 that was mint and I have to say that it was also a joy to drive but you noticed the shortage of gears with the P38 only having 4 from the ZF 4hp24 auto box and the L322 had 6 from the ZF 6hp26.
 
Nope, not been fishing for weeks lol. Been working hard and putting in some miles. Definitely need to just book a day, pack my bag and coffee and spend a day at the river. Would bore most but to me it’s absolute peace

I did a bit on the fender the other day but that was more organizing engine and cleaning in order to find any leaks or issues and get a bit tidy prior to bulkhead. On that note we have a replacement bulkhead. I haven’t really unwrapped it yet but looks clean and in good condition. Need to finish a few patches and clean up front end before lifting that on. D1 is a bit of a stopper as I’m just skint constantly! It needs panels and parts and I’ve no money to throw. Hopefully Christmas brings a nice bonus.
 
Unless I put on my hard drive, which I will collect tomorrow, all my fender photos are on my old work phone as as such gone :rolleyes: @Hicap phill i don’t suppose you have any bay photos?

I can’t remember where half the stuff goes so I’m putting together what I can remember and going from there. Apologies for poor pictures. Did circa 10 hours on the fender today and it’s coming together nicely
