Hi , my dad's got a 110 td5 and has a staring problem the engine turns and tries to fire with blue smoke but fails , we have checked filters, pump sensors , wiring and are no further forward , a little spray of easy start and it's nearly there but every rough ...any ideas also checked the ecu , that s dry and injector seats and they look good , thanks

When you turn the ignition on, does the fuel pump run? If not does the temp gauge go into the red (even though its cold?) If so it might be your fuel pump relay is duff or the pins/socket are dirty or loose. Also it might be a bad earth near you ecu.

When was it last serviced ?
Have you checked the fuel filter is full ?
Have the leak off pipes been checked / changed recently?

All pipes and valves have been replaced , also new fuel line ..

Was the system bled as per RAVE ?

assuming you have run the purge cycle by pressing the accelerator 4 or 5 times with the ignition on ?
