Hi all, I'm a new to the forum and I need a bit of advice.
Recently I hit a brick wall with my TD4 2003. The engine wouldn't fire up. Thanks to the posts on this forum I managed to figure it out what the problem is. The first injector was leaking. I also could start the engine with easy start. I thought happy days the car would be back on the road in no time.
I had removed an inlet manifold and replaced the faulty injector. In a meantime I noticed there is a lot of carbon in the manifold and in a head so I scraped it off. Put it all back together and I can't start the engine anymore even with an easy start.

My question is what would could have gone wrong? What stupid maneuver I did?
Can any one help me to get back on track. Any suggestions is very welcome.

All gaskets are brand new. But I didn't bleed it. I thought it's self bleeding. Is there any procedure for that?

It is self-bleeding;)
Non starting is normally down to the high pressure fuel pump regulator O rings.
 
Have you cracked the injector pipes to see if you are getting fuel at the injectors? Could be pump related. Coincidences do happen. If it isn't starting with the evil easy start then I'd say your not getting fuel at the injectors. The pump is located in drivers side rear wheel arch. You should be able to hear is buzzing feintly with ignition on.

Low pressure pump works fine. I only change it couple of months ago.
I took manifold inlet off again. I will try to put it back on tonight and see what happens. In a mean time turns out that 3 of 4 glow plugs are out so I'm swaping them as well.
I could start the engine with easy start before swapping injectors.
 
If your reason for believing it is working fine is because it is near new, that is not a good test. You really need to prove that it is working fine.

Pump is fine. I was able to start the engine with an easy start so I believe fuel delivery is fine. I did injector leak test and turns out, there is excessive leak on the first injector which I swapped. then I scrapped off carbon in a manifold and header. When I put it all back together I can't start the engine anymore.
As manifold was off I have checked glow plugs and replaced all of them. I know they don't anything to do with the problem but I thought I might do as well.
Now, I'm waiting for HP regulators O rings.
I will report back next week after changing them.

Hi every one. I have recently replaced HP regulators O rings and put it all back together and nothing. Still can't make it starting.
Can anyone tell me how to bleed the fuel system? Haynes tells me it is selfbleeding but Nodge 86 says otherwise.
Can anyone shed some light please?

I said the fuel system IS self-bleeding!!

If it's still not starting and everything is working or been replaced. It's time to see if any codes are showing.
 
Yes it's self bleeding .re check your lp pump or pumps ,don't forget some have 2 lp pumps , best to switch on ignition , don't start. It put hand on 2 nd pump should vibrate for about ,5 sec then stop , you might need a helper for this, this is a Ming test to eliminate the lp pumps.
 
HI Everyone,
I manged to start the engine. After all the problem was with the first injector. After swapping it, I have scrapped carbon that built in a head, piece of it blocked one or more valves.
I had to tow a car on a 3rd gear, very gently for 300 to 400 yards. At the end of the journey the engine started. And start perfectly fine every time now.

I'd like to thank everyone for your advises.
