new to forum I have a Td4 2001 have problem starting it run around a week parked up at work wouldn't start left it till next day started switched off engine wouldn't start called AA out towed me back told me it was sensor on back of pump was reading more vaults that it should ,fires but wont start could it be sensor could it be sensor on cam ,all filters have been changed .was told to much fuel pressure caused by sensor thanks

Wouldn't mind betting its just the fuel pump has packed up rather than too much pressure!

When you turn the ignition on, does it sound like its working?

yes I can hear it running went to it this morning and its started first time seems to be when its hot or parked on a slant any tests that I can do

similar to what just happened to my mates td4 to begin with it started fine cold but took an age when warm, then just kept getting harder to start eventually it just cut out and refused to start again, turned out to be a faulty injector and has been fine since it was replaced

plus hope this isnt a daft question

but as a general consensus would a hawkeye pick up the fault with possibly a bad injector or cam sensor

hope u didnt mind me asking and was just a thought

Daft question whats a hawkeye

so sorry i should have explained myself better

a hawkeye is a diagnostic hand held machine for the land rovers

i was just wondering if these machines could indeed pick up a fault with either a bad injector or cam sensor and if the hawkeye could or not

my apologise once again and should have written it better and hopefully makes sense now, lol
