I am having a problem with the ignition. Its an 89 90 and i need to turn the key on and off sometimes 3 to 6 times before it will start. Sometimes it will start if I turn it to full start position and give the key a wiggle. Any ideas???
 
I couldn't tell you, But what I do know is I can probably start mine with a spoon lol,

Good thing the door locks are sound !
 
Had the same problem, one terminal was loose and caused your problem, don't lose the little grub screw though!
 
Looked at this job myself over the weekend. You can get just the new end of the key assembly (electrical switch), held in by grub screws. Such is my eyesight through I couldn't see whether they were allen key grub screws or not. Anyone know?
 
Sorted.....new switch delivered today. Took about 20mins to fit. Instrument binnacle off. Took a note of what cables went where. Tiny wee screw off (used magnetic screwdriver so I didn't drop it). Switch out, new switch in and starting no probs...:)
