hi, i have a dreaded td4 freelander, and its got the starting problem from hell. i have had the fuel pumped changed after having this problem previously buy land rover.

but now the problems back

starts from cold and wont start very well from hot but when running it stays running. takes a good 15sec for it to start. sometimes longer.

also when driving the other day i had a loss of power going up hill and a warning light on the dash any one help with info and advice?.?:confused::confused::confused:

this is usually caused by a faulty camshaft position sensor. Probably a good place to start....OR..

Also do a forum search for injector leak off test. you may have excessive leak off from an injector which will result in low fuel pressure and would explain the loss of power and warning light.

Nothing dreaded about a Td4....it's the best version of freelander.

Hi all, am currently having the same snag, mine is a '99 model - it just stopped while i was driving, fuel at half tank, its cranking but wouldnt start!, could it be the immobiliser? was thinking of changing the entire alarm system! - av checked fuel pressure is good and getting to the nossle chamber, primary lead from the coil has power,-suspecting nossles not firing due to alarm cut off!? - am i on the right track or completly lost? heeeelp please, i love that car!

Any body out there seen this snag b4? the car just stoped on cruise! could it be immobiliser? it had half tank of fuel, fuel pump runs, fuel pressure is good, coil is firing to the distributer cap, fuel getting to the nossle chamber at agood pressure as noted, is there anything else which can cause this snag? help plz
