Fitted a new starter solenoid, however i now have no power at all! No lights, ignition switch etc. However if i short out the starter solenoid all is powered up, engine starts BUT starter motor stays engaged! Totally confused, any ideas welcomed.

Lost all my electrics (lights horn ignition) the other week turned out to be a dodgy connection on the live wire to the starter
