Are the early type starter motors different from the later ones I have a 1995 p38 2.5 and need to replace the starter motor

All the same ERR5445. However i would not recommend going for a genuine Land rover one, it will cost more than the car is worth. Where do they get their prices from?
 
Bought a second hand one to tide me over while I put mine in for refurbishment as I cannot be off the road as I need the p38 for work

Second hand one off ebay for £30 - £50 quid should be fine. Mine is.
