Hi,
Just a quick question...
the power connector on the back of my ser 3 petrol starter motor is very loos and hence not making a good enough connection.
Can I get to it and tighten it or do i need to order another one?
The parts/ workshop manual has an exploded diagram. The important connection is the lead from the battery to the back of the alternator but it's a simple plug fit. It can become loose. It's not a very solid fit, can appear to loose.
Be careful not to overtighten. I sheared one of the terminals on my alternator once; luckily had enough left to bodge it, but it didn't need much force to break it.
just got it off and the whole thread has been stripped
I'm currently fighting with the 2 screws to see if i can change the connector but im starting to think about a replacement...
Has anyone tried those £107 ones off of ebay ???
And thinking further forward can a hand crank drive dog be fitted to a military 5 bearing engine (mine just has a nut)
