So recently, on a good number of occasions, I go to start the 90 (200tdi) and you can hear the starter spin but the solenoid doesn't throw it onto the flywheel. However on the second turn of the key, it fires right up.

Starter motor a year old.

Battery is good.

Checked earths seem ok.

Although I suspect that's what it may be?

Thought?

Thanks

just bit :p thanks for the thought :D

done it before changing the other just remember it being a bastid

No dont oil the bendix as clutch dust sticks and jams it up.
Clean with petrol/parafin etc and then dry it off.
I rub a bog standard pencil on the bendix as the graphite does not become sticky.
Works for me.
