Hi All

The starter motor on my 2.5 N/A diesel seams to be packing up on me (it strugles to turn the end over even when the battery is fully charged).

What are my options

Is it best to get my old unit reconditioned ??
Or just buy a new one for 80 odd quid

Also if i get a new one should i stick to one for a 2.5 N/A or should i go for one that fits a 200TDI as i have heard these are better

Have you checked your earth connection ? as this can cause slow starting.

Jump start from another vehicle.
Just because it's fully charged doesn't mean it's holding enough charge to turn over your engine.

The earth connection is new so it should be ok but i will check it out ,the battery is a optima red top about 1 year old
I have spoke to a chap which reconditions them he said he will bench test it whatever that means

run yer jump lead from the batt neg to the chassis next to the start and then try it - i bet it's the starter thou
