I has standard manifolds on mine an getting the starter in and out wasn't bad at all :) and yes it was in the vehicle at the time
 
Motors out :) lifted the car a few inches and the thing just fell out on to my mat. Tested it. Motor wasnt running at all through the solenoid and was slow and sticky when the solenoid was bypassed.

took her apart Polished all the bushes, faces and friction places. BIt of copperslip on the friction faces and now she spins like a beaut but the solenoid is goosed :(

easy enough to sort then,,,,

I would fit a New motor to that as that way i know its good for 12months.
