So, I've had the Puma for 2 months now and feel that is long enough for it to be a new shiny vehicle and I can start hacking it around a bit.

I've coated the whole back area with DynaMat sound proofing stuff and am in the process of ply lining it all.

Last night i got rid of the massively over sized steering wheel and put a much nicer smaller unit on...

Old:

New:

(it is 2" smaller)

I also did the Puma glove box conversion and have the Mud Stuff overhead storage solution to put in...

And of course the 110...

Got some Unistrut to clamp onto the rack to mount the roof tent to - that's tonight's project!

That looks really great

Hope you've got some serious security - would be tragic to loose him

I do, tracker is a standard requirement of ins. company anyway, disklok is equally standard, it also sleeps under 24-7 ups backed up CCTV... :)

So how is it then? Compared to an older fender I mean. Has it got soul?

It does, yes it is new and shiny (apart from the big scratch i've already put in the dash from some guttering )
but, it is still 100% land rover, I guess there is a bit more work to be done by me to make it special and part of the family, but, a few descent trips away in it will soon sort that one out. For me what makes a landy is the experiences I have with it, the D3 was shiny and newish, but, we kitted it out and toured Morocco - so we'll always remember it. The D2 i had we never did anything special with and didn't think too much to the drive and is already pretty much forgotten... whereas the series, i think everyone who even vaguely knows me knows I have a series called bump and some of the crazy stuff I have done in him :)
