Ok so td4 06 freelander
Having starting issues some times both hot and cold would turn over but not start. Called the AA so as to get it put on computer came up with fault crankshart possition sensor. Which id already assumed form posts on here.
So last night I replaced it. Started like a dream and tick over was good but at 2500 rev it just drops. When moving it will happly go to 3000 revs but same thing.

Check double check and then cbeck again all pipe nothing wrong there as fare as I can see.

Couple of post surjest blocked fuel fillter is this the best idea and why would it only start after I sorted other issue?

Could be as simple as the fuel filter, could be your low pressure fuel pump on it's way out. Both relatively straight forwards. You'll have to start somewhere and these are the easiest
Hope you introduced yourself on the main page. They can get a bit touchy if you haven't.

Hay mike thanks for the reply not having much luck with navigating this site how do I intoduce my self.? Ps replaced fuel fillter not helped going to go back to old sensor see if that could help. Ben
