I’ve managed to increase the range on mine before it plays up, still not right especially as weather hits 30•
Static timing made biggerest difference.

Recon FIP is only propper cure

Fiddling about with idle speed and other things can reduce the symptoms as already said, but it will not cure the problem which will worsen over time only an exchange refurbished pump will do that.
