Anyone know if this still counts as a fail or an advisory?
The more I read about it the muddier the waters getting.

My problem is the freanders out of mot. I'd like to mot it then get the codes read.

I do have a obd cable to usb. But I can't get any software to talk to the lander.

2005 td4 freelander if it helps.
Cheers all

SRS light is Not a fail but a non functioning one is:

A Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) malfunction indicator lamp indicating a system malfunction.

So u have SRS but no lamp u have a system malfunction etc etc.

SRS light is a fail.

srs light is not a fail I had mine done in November with the srs lights on tho I did ask first and they told me its not included in the test infact the srs light is still on

Have you checked the plug under the drivers seat?

Yup.
I was told by a yeehaw mechanic that plugged it in that it was the bit behind the wheel. Clockspring? So changed that.
An also unplugged the seats an cleaned the connections while the battery was off.

So I don't know if there's another fault or if it needs reading and clearing.

See muddy waters.
According to the regs it should fail.

I'm guessing its gonna depend on where I take it ;)

Mine had it on a friend took it off for me before mot it was the passenger seat belt retentioner.apparently when the seat gets rammed back to hard this can cause it and did cause it twice.just get it took off.

No light will also be a fail, it has to light for the self test.

As of March 2013 an illuminated SRS light is or should be a fail ;)

Any idea if the srs cables under the passenger seat need to be reconnected the right way round? My connector is broken and I'm not sure of the wire colour codes

I would think that connecting them the wrong way, could result in a fault light, or firing of the seat pyrotechnic.

SRS light once came on and stayed on in my Freelander. Garage checked it using a laptop and couldn't find any reason. Fault was cleared by mechanic and has not occurred again. Intermittent faults are an arse!

Were you careful to centre the clockspring before fitting the wheel? Don't ask how I know.
