The older hawkeye, would only program keys if you had the full barcode, where as the nanocom will program the car to accept a used key using the 6 digit code inside the keyfob.

You would have to ask bearmach if the hawkeye totoal has improved on this.

You are the one that mentioned it to start with .........I would have kept me trap shut...........:p:p:p:p

People sometimes want to know about all the options.
Look where keeping yer trap shut has got the US attorney General :D

What about mapping - I see Nanocom can upload a new map to the ECU - will Hawkeye (can't see any mention of this feature on their site)

Are all Nanocoms the same - I mean if it says Discovery will it cover all years and models of D2 Petrol/Diesel or does it have to be specific?

If you get one for your diesel it will cover all aspects of that model. If you want to use it on a petrol model you would have to buy a petrol unlock code which would enable it to cover all aspects of the petrol model. Unlock codes cost around £50.00 and are just down loaded from the site onto your Nanocom to enable the already stored information.

Nanocom will load maps..BUT..........I was warned against doing this with a nanocom, as if anything happens to the loading of a map it can brick your ECU,

Others may say different. that is their choice.

It also depends if yours is an NNN ECU or not, as to whether you can map it yourself or not.

Cheers
