To start with I am well aware of the required precaution to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 30 mins before looking at the airbag system.

Nanocom is reporting "SRS error 004 Open Circuit. Intermittent fault". So it looks like I need to check a connector. I have been through the Nanocom docs and I cannot find an explanation of this error. Does the 004 number show where the problem is?

Apart from the wires under the seats, where do I start? With the wires under the seat, can I disconnect and apply electrical cleaner? Do not want to risk it deploying as its booked for MOT on Wednesday morning

There are a couple (i think) of connections under the drivers (RHS) kick panel, shopping the top edge where your right knee would be, worth checking. It's a relay or some other magical box of gubbins

My view on the connectors, if it's possible to break the connection through wear hamfistedness, etc, they shouldn't trigger. My laymans understanding, they need a trigger voltage or they would go off as they intermittently disconnect moving the seat, going over bumps etc.
I wouldn't be doing anything that could be considered a short, is electrical cleaner conductive? I'd disconnect to be safe, wiggling a wire isn't quite the same as disconnecting and fiddling with liquids

It's usually the under seat connector drivers side that gives trouble. Unplugging and re-plugging often clears the fault,. There is a connector up by the steering column and of course the rotary coupler.

I have see the YouTube vids too. There are a couple of sensors by the base of the seatbelts under the kick plate where the wiring loom runs as well as the front crash sensors. Also, there is one behind the panel next to the accelerator.

I cleared the fault and it did not come back during the MOT. I was just hoping the error message would give pointer to where the problem lay.

I am unsure, but I think it's the drivers side airbag, so the under seat connector.
