How Do.

My 03 TD5 went to my local garage 2 weeks ago for a service. Its got 65 on the clock and I have it done every 10 thousand. The same bloke has serviced it 4 times for me over the past 2 years.

He changed the auxillary belt on the front for me and it now squeels like a **** when I start up.

He reckons it will calm itself down in time.

I thought the pulleys were self tensioning. Do they need adjusting somehow or Is he right - it will settle down when run in?

Its doin me head in and I feel like a gypo when I start it up in front of me mates.

Cheers

Carlos.

PS - I used the proper swear word but somehow its been **** blanked out.

What's going on - I thought this was a proper Blokes web site not some nanby banby moderator censored place?

hi gypo!

is that a rusty mk4 transit you have there........

they have self adjusting tensioners, a new belt shouldn't squeal squeal = slip and a slipping belt gets hot and will end up eating its self! you may need new tensioners

Apparently that swear word is - I used one that started and ended with a T and wa in the middle.

I think the F word is more offensive and **** should be allowed.
