My 94 300tdi auto has developed a squeal. It doesnt do it when idleing only when accelerating.checked the usual bearing on the pulleys all fine.only thing iv done was top up the power steering fluid with atf and then the day after jt started.
Bearings all seem ok.

Any ideas on what it could be

I have a v8 that was doing this, checked all the pulleys and bearings no play. Ended up running it without the serpentine belt on idle only and was quiet, turned out to be the water pump.

New water pump and no more squealing on acceleration/revving engine.

oil on belt = slipping belt no?

warn alternator pulley

Uj could be squeeling. My front sounded like a belt before it turned into a knocking sound.

he said he topped up the power steering the night before

Changed all uj the other month after it got a judder at 30. So never even 4t of it.and with it being only when accelerated then could be.thanks for that
