no what he needs to do is to grab hold of the fan get someone to start the car if it chops his hands off then he knows the fan has seized but won't need to fix it as he will have no hands to fix it with ferkin knob.

I once used talc on my old Triumph Spitfire, it was Baby talc and that worked real nice...
