Hi,

All of a sudden, when I depress my clutch pedal it squeaks. Any idea what this could be? It has only just started doing it. I had the clutch + master/slave cylinder + clutch release bearing replaced about 3000 miles ago.

Cheers

Rich

It'll just want a bit of grease or something on the pedal pivot. Spray some GT85 up behind the dash, that'll get it. My bro in law had a squeaky clutch in his defender. A bit of GT85 solved the problem.

Mines been doing that for years, theres a metal plate spot welded to the bulkhead.

it will flex each time the pedal is floored.

One of these days I'll get round to it..

There’s no way only two people have this problem!
I bought a brand new 04 td4 2001 54 and my latest 56 all do/did have a squeaking clutch

I would have had a auto but beggars and all that

Ah I see.... do what my misses does when her motor makes a noise & turn up the radio
She once said the car was banging at the back this was after 2 weeks,
The rear top shock mount burst & the shocker was hitting the parcel shelf when she went over
speed bumps o_O

Have the same in mine, also squeaky noise when turning steering wheel.
What I noticed is that the squeaks go if it rains for a long time. Probably moisture gets somewhere and stops it.
Please let us know if you find the spot should be greased.

Same here, squeaky / creaky clutch pedal. Drives me nuts! I've been under there with spray grease and it makes stuff-all difference. Fortunately, it has very thoughtfully trashed its IRD to take my mind off the problem for the moment...

The only squeaks from my Freelander will be when I catch the fecking mouse in our larder and take somewhere far away to release it - if its neck ain't broke.

Don't talk to me about mice! Had a bloody MINT set of seats in a really rare trim colour for my Alfa in the loft and some bloody rodent decided to use the velour for nest lining once!

I had same problem both when pressing down and releasing. Then it started to sound like a barn door opening when the hinges hadn't been oiled. My mechanic changed the clutch peddle and now it is lovely and quiet.

Thanks, that's useful info. If I ever get my IRD back together, I'll have a go at it.

The fecking thing had cheese off the trap last night, peanut butter on bread the night before - and the trap still hasn't sprung.

Think I need a different trap.

I've sat up half the night before now, patiently waiting with my loaded air rifle in hand. The moment the little brighter showed it's head, the pellet did its thing and no more mouse.
