im looking to renew springs and shocks next month, keeping it standard as dont need any lift for what i use it for.
ive heard alot of bad things about centre places so looking for advice on who to go to........i mean if the price is right might even try main dealer there 've lasted the last 13years ok

Its an easy job and as as has been said you don't need spring clamps. Get yourself a big stillsons because chances are the shock bolts will be seized and you'll need the stillsons to grip and turn the shock. I changed mine recently and fitted a Bearmach heavy duty set.

i can do the job myself thers no problem with that. i was talking about best quality parts for sensible money

There's 2 areas the bolts are notorious for seizing and snapping off. So its worth getting front spring seats and possibly also rear upper shock mounts. The former are:

PM636 Heavy duty shock absorber turret securing ring (inc. nuts)

(At £5 vs £3.45, doesn't really make sense NOT to get the heavy duty versions?)

And the latter are a bit more expensive, so worth taking the time to unto that nut without shearing off the thread of the shock support (can't find pic on internet). If you need it, its the standard thread M12 nut you need.
