What are the best spring suspension kits out their for a P38?

I would really like to fit something that would be near or at the high setting (Off-road setting) of the air-bag system. But saying that, would there be any real loss of handling on the road?

I've seen a suspension kit on Paddock's site and I was wondering if it was any good. PM627 | P38 Air to Coil Conversion Kit Also, with that kit, what would the final ride height be? (Standard or nearer to the Off-road level of the air-bag set up)

Also the same for polybush kits?

Which of the following should I be looking at:

  1. Polybush COMFORT Kit or
  2. Polybush DYNAMIC Kit?

Would Koni Heavy Track shock absorbers be a good choice with all of the above?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Mmmm, well, after just going through an older thread else where on this forum, I think that the planned spring conversion is off the cards so to speak. Going to opt for swapping the old air bags for a set of the Generation III's. To hell with it!;)

Gen II's more than adequate unless you are into serious off roading, with Gen III's you will also need to replace the shocks to get the extra articulation.:)

Wise move Phil. Not sure where you are but if in the UK, a conversion to springs won't get an MOT.

Consider the gen 3 bags from Arnott. Not much more expensive than standard but heaps better.

I'm in Portugal and by what we are hearing on the grape vine, those new laws are heading here and fast.

Was thinking about the Arnott II but then after seeing the bit about the Gen III being softer on the high but firmer on the low I decided for the Gen III.

I am also thinking off adding shockers with and extra 2inch over the standard ones.

As for the sensors, as long as I don't go fiddling around with the ride heights they should be ok.

Not when you're on full articulation and the chassis is grounded they won't. All you need to do with shocks is put two front ones on the back. Then all you need is two longer ones for the front.
