As the title says....
I have fitted all four shims to the top and bottom pins and bolted down but the tension is too high, about 40lb.
How many extra shims can I fit to the top pin to bring it down? is there a limit?
cheers Peter

A damn. Site more than 4 I would think. There must be an inch of thread on the fixing bolts.

Are the large swivel housing seals in place? if so they can upset your settings, specialy when new. If you need more shims to get it right put them at the top only or the seal may not fit well enough at the bottom to keep the oil in.

Thanks for the replies,
Everything has been fitted as the instructions. 4 shims at top and 4 at the bottom 4 different thicknesses.
I have not fitted the housing seal and retaining plate although it is in place ready.
It says add or remove shims to achieve the correct tension. I didnt think I woud need extra shims.
I have since fitted another of the thickest shims and it is still tight although not as much.
I wonder what the most amount is allowed or has been fitted?
I have ordered some more shims and will assemble the other side to see if there is any difference.
cheers Peter

You may have to revisit them once driven a bit anyway. Got mine spot on but the off side became slack within 500 miles.
My mot chap had to show me the tiny amount of wobble as I couldn't see it.

I suppose I will have to fit whatever it takes to getit right then recheck later.
