There is four spotlights on my roof bar (55w, fitted when I bought my landy) and after using them last week the wires on the back of the switch had melted slightly and the switch seems to have melted inside because it will no longer move. I want to rip out all the wiring to them and start them again from scratch. Can not seem to find no relay in the wiring neither.

Can anyone tell me what amp wire, what relay and what switch that I need please?? I just want to wore them to an on/off switch and not interested in wiring them into the high beam.

Many thanks

Adam

You can use just about any stock relay as long as it is rated 200W+ or 50A

Take a feed directly from your battery, insert an in-line fuse and then use that to switch your lights.

The switch should be wired into the Auxilary Fuse.

Simple

oh and ya might want to check the MOT requirements for spots as am reasonably sure they should be wired such they ONLY can come on when main beams in on

It passed the MOT a few months back with them on but will look into it just in case

Cheers

easiest option is buy the kit direct from mm 4x4. £55 inc vat... got mine and wiring them in tomoz. kit is simple and self explanatory!

Completely wrong there matey ... spotlights on a roof bar have to be on an isolated switch and should NOT operate with full beam. Spotlights below the height of the headlights can be wired to main beam such as the ones on the A-bar. ;)
