Hi, I'm trying to fit some spot lights and could do with some wiring help - it's not working and I've no idea why.

I've fitted 2 spots on a bar on the roof driven by a relay which should be switched by main beam and an override.
If I don't use the main beam and just take power off the battery straight onto the override then it works fine, but trying to take power from the main beam, nothing - as if there's no juice in that wire.
I've used the blue wire with white stripe taken from in the engine bay near the bulkhead on the LH side. Everything is earthed straight onto battery negative.
Am I doing anything obviously wrong?
Vehicle is a 110 Td5.

I'm doing the same thing as this (thanks to whoever drew this), where the main beam feed is as described above

the coil feed (main beam) is live only when main beam is on.
If main beam is on and spots don't work, then that feed isn't the main beam. Simples. Assuming your main beam is actually working.

Best check for this is a 12v tester, a screwdriver with a 12v bulb on it with a crocodile clip tail for the earth. Best tool ever.

Just to close this out - blue+white wasnt main beam.. blue+grey(slate) is. Switch the relay feed over and worked fine!
Thanks all
