Bit late, silly name. Range rover or any thing else. The rangie is unique.

Appreciate this response, many thanks.

I’ve been doing 10k+ a year for 17 years but now that’s all come to an end. I will probably, at a push, do 10 miles a day with maybe 2 days a week without any driving so it makes sense to buy a supercharged
It makes sense to buy electric, a Tesla if you must flaunt it

Diesel is dead.
Really? Latest additives in developement seem to be rather effective, at idle a lot of the current models don't show any emissions whereas the old days you'd be able to freak out John Wayne with the huge amount of smoke signals produced

Anyone who is saying diesels are dead is a mushroom ! Pretty much all working vehicles from fire engines delivery lorry’s to your builders small van are all diesel! Any serious overland vehicle will probably be a diesel , lasts forever not overworking plenty of grunt and torque and fuel available anywhere , 15 mpg ? In London ? I think you better budget for ten !

Re: EV's How are people living in terraced houses with no drives or in blocks of flats, going to charge their cars? One not so bright suggestion was to fit street lamp-posts with charging points, but of course there was no estimate of the cost of vastly increasing the power capacity of the street lighting network.

I asked that exact question and was told there would be plenty of publically accessible power points to use instead.

Not so sure about the convenience of that, and can’t really trail extension cords all over the place....

Who said, in not so many words as to incriminate himself, to steer away from diesels as much less aggro.

I am therefore contemplating a 5 litre Supercharged 2010 year with 60k on the clock

Does anyone own one? I am assuming realtime MPG for London to be 15mpg

Andy
did yer buy it in the end?

I had one of these as a rental, they have a curious dash design that launches your phone out the window if your phone is on the dash, you have the passenger window open and take a roundabout at speed.....
I managed that trick on a series 3 dash, fortunately it was a Nokia 2110 (the old brick with a pull up aerial) and it survived the ordeal with a small dent.
Always marveled at the fact that it managed to find the hole as series windows do not offer a very large opening!
