Splitting the box off my engine..got all the bolts out, starter motor off. All wiring disconnected. Slave cylinder off. Props off..mounts off.

It's got about a 10/15cm gap all around but doesn't want to go any further. I am trying to do it on my tod..so can't really watch what it going on to well. Is it big hammer time? Or have I forgotten something? I feel like it it just force needed...there wouldn't be any gap if I forgot something I wouldn't have thought?

If you've not removed the transfer box, have you removed the handbrake cable?

Weight of the transfer could be weighing down the back end of the box, angling it very slightly funny and latching maybe, make sure its all dead straight and give it some encouragement long as everything's disconnected :)

I use a pry bar in the gap rather than the big hammer.
Dont get under it,it's chuffing heavy with the T/B attached.

If you put up your location maybe someone local could come and give a hand if possible.

Guys! Thank yku all for your advice. It just needed a second pair of hands to pull it out straight!

The new box flew in..but it won't start now! Turns over really well, but doesn't fire. Gonna double check I connected everything back up again. Failing that I'm thinking i may have upset the crank sensor or the wires to it? Unless the immobiliser is doing something funny having had the battery off..and shorting the starter motor out on the chassis before disconnecting the battery
