Hi guys, posted this in the general forum but advised it may be better here.

Was driving my L322 RR Vogue ('2003) when the speedo died. Simultaneously the air suspension and hdc inactive warnings came on. Steering has also occasionally since gone heavy.

I have recently had rear calliper replaced as had seized and told this may fix.. But no luck. New alternator and battery also gone in fairly recently although not sure it could be linked.

Apparently it's servotronic steering so the inactive messages could be due to not seeing a road speed function.

Anyone else experienced the same issue?

Hi, You need to get it on diagnostics but would suspect a k bus error. probably caused by the headlight levelling ecu in the passenger footwell being underwater. Remove trim at bottom of A post inside the car and fish for the ecu. When my ecu went, lost steering, air susp, central locking, alarm going off randomly, massive battery drain.
Diagnostics will prove.

ABS sensor or ECU.....the speedo signal is derived from one of the rear sensors...HDC/DSC/ABS and EAS will all go out with ABS issues as the system all run on the CANbus....

As sptifire says, Diagnostics will confirm, but I am not thinking this is K Bus issues....K bus controls other peripherals such as the interior lights, immobiliser, door outstations that sort of thing.

The Headlamp leveling ECU is a known issue as above, so worth a check, but I am on the rear ABS sensor being the culprit!

Yep as Saint says. Abs ecu or sensor. Had similar fault albeit without the speedo fault. Had my abs ecu reconditioned and fixed all the problems. Google the fault and you'll find others have had exactly the same.

Any one of the abs sensors being knackered will cause hdc/eas/abs inactive but the rearleft is also the one used for the speedo reading.
