Just got a new Disco 3 - love it to bits so far...........problem with the voice recognition but that'll get sorted soon (touch wood)

Anyone know if the sat nav can be 'tweaked' so that speed cameras can be added.........like they are in TomTom as POI's?

I just gotta find a way.......

Well I have an original TDi which doesn't have SAT NAV but I manage to avoid the scurge of the speed camera by taking a few simple steps.
1) I always remember that I am driving a very capable machine which driven at speed could become very dangerous, so I SLOW DOWN.
2) I always stick to the speed limits..safety is what they are there for.
3) I recognise that not all motorists share the same Landrover enthusiasm as I do. Let me say at this point that given a field full of mud or a green lane, im there with the best of 'em...im a self certified Landrover nutcase! But to another 'car' based motorist I am probably quite an anoyance (especially when I have not washed my Landy after a fun packed family mud based weekend and its sat there in the traffic on a rainy Monday morning dripping in 'fun mud'...listening to my music , looking happy...now if I were to be speeding also ...in my fun mud covered fun buggy, whilst looking at my SATNAV then what an absolute anoyance I would be

Wow, I never thought of that....slowing down, how novel!

Obviously I bought the Disco for it's porsche beating, boy racer characteristics and am looking at using technology so I can endlessly break the law and drive everywhere at 100+mph.

Or, in reality, like many thousands of ordinary motorists, I am merely looking to use such technology for the warning of ....err....accident blackspots I think Mr Plod describes them as......or cash generating stealth tax machines.

So thanks for your 'advise' - anyone got anything more sensible to offer.

If it's CD or DVD based then I would check out some of those er "share" sites. I for one tried a newer version of map for my laguna sat nav, purely you understand for scientific purposes and purchased (£150) when I verified .

Never come across POI's for speed camera's personnally but seems like a good idea.

Unfortunately my disco does not come with sat nav, but it does have an uncanny knack for finding pot holes and icy bits of road.
