there seems to be an up rising of alloy spare wheel thefts around the Leeds and Wakefield area they tried to steel mine in broad daylight in Morrison's car park in Morley luckily I had placed one of my locking wheel nuts on it when I changed my wheel a few weeks ago but have been told by police that it seems an upcoming trend at the moment
be carful out there guys and girls:)

Just some advice what is the best why to stop them from being nicked as i only have the three wheel nuts on mine? a locking wheel nut ?

Best thing I've seen is a chain and padlock that goes through the wheel and around the carrier, keep the key in the car then out of sight.

With anything in your landy if it's easy it's at risk, ie headlamps, wheels, winches if not security bolted, what a sad world.

Think my wheels are safe, trying to flog another set the same on ebay and they ain't even reached 2 quid 50 a wheel!

I did advertise them on here too but no joy, they are corroded and nothing special with worn tyres, well one half decent AT tyre,

I've heard of fancy dust caps getting nicked, like metal ones ect,

Gotta be quite desperate! Don't think they would weigh in for much down the scrappy

Even ebaying them won't make you enough money to make it worth while...

Hi, just had my Disco 2 Spare (11 years old, never used with new tyre) nicked yesterday, broad daylight in work car park (with CCTV cameras). Security going through the CCTV now. Anyhoo, just calculated it'll cost me about £270 if I pick up a decent used alloy, new tyre, etc. Oh, and locking nuts didn't stop them. Which brings me to my actual question, it's a 2003 style 5 alloy, need confirmation this is the 18in hurricane, same as fits the P38, is that correct — seems to be lot's on eBay. Land rover dealer who I bought my Landmark from new didn't have a clue?

As it's a spare, can't you use a cheap disco 2 alloy wheel with a half decent tyre and put a nice cover over it?

Save quite a few quid

Pop to to introduce yourself section and tell us more about your disco ;)

That's the plan, looked on eBay, seen a few, looking at one from a breakers at the moment, just dropped them an email to see if they still have it, looks as new with new tyre.

Actually, I'm hanging about for a few days to see if mine appears on Gumtree or eBay, then I can buy it back. I'll pop to intro and introduce my disco.

They are probably getting a load together and weighing them in as they have cost them nothing to get them in the first place thieving ****s
