It’s why the spare is supplied to get you home at reduced speed, not for use for the next month
Seems someone forgot to buy the spare when they went from silly wheels to rubber bands. I'dcsay no to using it. Apart from the technical side, something in me is saying there might be a roads violation in it, if not a one off emergency , eg, stuck on motorway or similar predicament.Hi I'm currently running 285 45r 22 on 58 plate 3.6 tdv8. Have only just realised that spare is only a 255 50 20. Is this OK as a spare or will it cause problems if I use it. Thanks for any feedback peeps. Rich
It's fashion. Low profile tyres are really only applicable to high performance cars for their lower compliance and so improved handling.Today's rim sizes astound me, being an old fart.
20in. is the size on the HGV's I used to drive, albeit with a lot more rubber wrapped around them
Just out of interest, can anyone explain what the attraction is to car owners ?
nb. rubber band tyres should in theory be cheaper, but I doubt that's the case.
