Hi all
My spare wheel is mounted inside my 110hardtop at the moment and I need to move it onto the rear door due to needing to carry long items that won't fit inside with the wheel in.
I have the mounting bracket and it looks like the same bracket that is used to mount it on back door??
Is there anything I need other than a drill bit??
Sorry if I'm been a bit dumb here but I've not owned it long and a bit new to this Landy lark

The normal rear door mounting works ok, but it can cause cracking of the door over time, particularly with large non-standard wheels. The best solution for a rear-mounted spare is to get a swingaway wheel carrier. They're hinged separately to the tub, taking all the weight off the rear door, and a linkage to the door itself means they open together.

+1 for the above, especially if you have larger tyres. If you have to fit the standard carrier, it should have two plates, one fits through from the inside, and one outside, bolted through the door onto the first. Lots of holes to drill, but nothing complicated.

Thanks guys,will save up some pennies and get myself a swing away then.
Glad I didn't just go ahead and fit it !!

I replaced my rear door about 8 yrs ago and put a swing away carrier on at the same time to try and save the new door. What I found though was that the energy in the tyre/wheel transferred through the door as you shut it. This created quite a shock wave through the door and it didn't like it!
Wheel/tyre was quite large at 265x75 R16. This time I'm contemplating a skinny, get me home wheel/tyre arrangement.
