Hi, Does any one know if a swing away carrier is made for Disco 2? I've looked in the usual places, Disco 3&4 yes but not 1&2.
Just wondering why?Hi, Does any one know if a swing away carrier is made for Disco 2? I've looked in the usual places, Disco 3&4 yes but not 1&2.
Are you bored, or do you just like to see your name in print?Just wondering why?
It's a valid question. The D3 and 4 stow the spare wheel below the body giving the rear of the vehicle the possible look of a van rather than the traditional 4x4 so lifting the spare wheel up onto a swing away carrier might seem to be a good idea to some owners. Are you bored, or do you just like to see your name in print?
The reason I asked is because the D2 carries the spare on the door, which is hinged to the side.I was asking a perfectly valid question why answer it with a question .

Curiosity maybe? Since it already has a swing away carrier, called "the rear door"...I was asking a perfectly valid question why answer it with a question .
Why should I have to justify my reasons for posting a question,I am looking for an answer to my question, not to satisfy your curiosity this is my final post on this subjectIt's a valid question. The D1 and D2 always did have the spare wheel on the rear door which although the weight does throw some extra strain on the hinges, many people do like the look of the wheel on the back door.
So the question remains "Why?"
And I would also respectfully suggest that your comment isn't exactly the best way of winning friends and obtaining reasonable answers.
Well sometimes people search these threads looking for info which might help them before asking a question. Including as much info as possible, not only helps people answer your question but also helps other members who may have a similar question for the same reason as you. That's what this forum is all about. Not really doing yourself any favours by giving attitude to people who may be able to help you with any future questions you might have...Thanks Neilly

I'm curious aswell as I can't think of anything behind my spare wheel that I need access to.
Another members D1 follow the thread from here.Never had a problem myself but I can see your point @dieseldog69
Yes, that looks like an alternative.Another members D1 follow the thread from here.

Yes, that looks like an alternative.
Personally preferred the bumper without the wheel carrier though, but its an option.
