Hi guys

As you may know I am buying a set of 4 insa turbo special tracks not this weekend but next or in the following week but what I want to know is are they a rotational tyre, they look like they are but I am not sure but if they are what do you guys do when it comes to fitting the spare.

A swap wheels round so all 4 tyres are pointing the same way.

B buy a none rotational tyre but of off road spec.

:)

Yes they are rotational. I would have thought option A is the wrong one, when I had 2 of my insas put on the wrong way they were beyond awful on the road, definitely worse than normal (which is pretty damn bad anyway). Just put the spare on where it's needed, then get to a garage when you can and have the other tyre put back on or the spare reversed as required.

Personally I'd get 5 of the same, special tracks seem to come up quite large so buying another brand tyre which should be the same size might not work. For instance my 285/75 grizzly claw is nowhere near the same size as my 285/75 special tracks, and made for a very interesting journey to the tyre fitters.

Cheers for that so is a normal landy road tyre ok to have as a spare then :)

Can I just point out that if your tyres are non-rotational, you won't go very far!

Tyres is supposed to rotate, which is why they is a kind of round shape :D:D:D

Yeah what I meant was with option A i was thinking more if I was say green laning and I had say 5 x insa S/T's the spare may be the odd one out as the tyre could be fitted the wrong way round depending which side of the car the punctured or what ever is on due to having inc the spare 3 x tyres facing one way and 2 x tyres facing the other way but thinking about it that would only work if I was lucky enough for the spare was the right direction for swapping over, so its a toss up wether I use the original spare but replace the tyre for a new tyre or buy a similar new tyre perpose wise to the insa's but something none directional

As said earlier I'd stick with the Insa's and if you get a puncture stick the spare on whichever way round fate decrees and get the puncture fixed or spare flipped at the first op.

Have the same issue with my saharas but maybe a little less extreme the wrong way round

it won't make a jot to get you home.

You won't be able to hear a thing and they will be just as noisy and uncomfortable as if they were the right way round.

Yep decided to do it that way now just buy another insa S/T as a spare but will have it fitted for the N/S as there is more chance on the road of picking stuff up off the road on the N/S tyres than there is on the O/S ones :)
